Did you know?

Q:  I have been working out for three weeks now and haven't lost a pound, is that normal?

A:  Yes that is normal.

The problem is that the scale is not the best indicator of your weight loss progress.  The answer to the question is that you have probably lost some fat and also gained some muscle, so the scale hasn't moved.

Although your weight may not have changed your body composition did and that's what we want.  Remember, every pound of muscle gained increases our metabolism by 15 calories per day.

But I thought that muscle weighs more than fat so I don't want to gain too much muscle.

Not true.  Which is heavier, a pound of feathers or a pound of lead?

A pound of muscle is a pound and so is a pound of fat.  The key here is that muscle is more dense than fat, hence it takes up less space.  So you can lose fat and gain muscle and still lose inches.

Have a Healthy Day,
