Subject: Executive Fitness Weekly Fit Tip: Longevity

 Did you know?

Fitness is the Most Important Factor in Longevity Equation

"Poor physical fitness is a better predictor of death than a host of other documented and widely feared health risk factors." Washington Post

"The most important thing you can do to live a long life, buy a good pair of sneakers and use them" San Jose News

A new study in The New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM), shows that one's level of fitness has more to do with longevity than that of a host of other factors, including smoking, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, history of heart attacks, emphysema, etc.

In a study of 6,213 men they found that the individuals chances of remaining alive increased by 12% with each increase of exercise intensity.  The findings are believed to be applicable to women.

Remember, "Don't dream up thousands of reasons why you can't do what you want to; find one reason why you can."
